Project Description

The “Hills Buildings” Façade project is an ongoing effort just around the corner from our Frederick Construction offices. We are renovating and updating three adjoining downtown Vicksburg buildings to become the new Cone Top Brewery Museum—a sub-brand of The Mill at Vicksburg.

The work boasts a strong focus on historical restoration with some modernization:

  • New hardwood floors
  • New doors
  • Window restoration
  • Installation of three bars to match 19th century style
  • Nana Wall glass door at the back of the building that fully opens to the new patio installed for outdoor entertainment
  • Storefronts, façade and balcony reflect the original late-1800s building design, with arches and cast iron columns

The storefront glass installation at 108 and 110 S. Main includes transom windows and frames, created by Frederick Construction, that will open to allow natural ventilation into the building and will have mechanical heating and cooling. Similarly, 106 and 108 S Main have custom-crafted cast iron columns that emulate historic details true to the building’s history.

Three bars were sourced from across the country and reflect brands such as “Brunswick,” which were the premier craftsmen of bars, billiard tables and support elements for bars, restaurants, hotels and saloons in the late 1800s.

The Nana Wall feature is a sliding glass door system that will completely open the 110 S. Main interior space to its exterior west patio.

Over 14,000 new bricks have been installed across all three buildings:

  • 110 building: 4,300 bricks
  • 108 building: 5,000 bricks
  • North side of 106 building: 60 bricks
  • East & West Elevations 106 Building: 4,900 bricks
